Metamorphic has been granted exploration rights to crown minerals at the Rotfjellet ultramafic intrusion in Nordland county, Norway. Although located just south of the historic mining district of Hattfjelldal and east of the Nickel mountain (Rönbacken) nickel prospect in Sweden, the Rotfjellet the ultramafic body has remained unexplored. It has an estimated size of at least 3.5 billion tons.
